Join Tegan from Ngumpie weaving for a fun evening of weaving and connecting (and sipping on a little wine, if you so desire). Weaving has been used for thousands of years for healing. A powerful meditative tool that can help you stay grounded, it is such a beautiful way of bringing people together while creating a very special piece of art. Come and learn a little about the Aboriginal culture as we connect and weave together.
Tegan uses Quondong seeds and Emu feathers to connect back to her country in Far West NSW. Feathers are also for cleansing so she adds these to her pieces as a cleansing element.
This will be our second in a series of wonderful weaving workshops, stay tuned for number 3.
A little about Tegan Murdock Tegan is a proud member of the Barkindtji tribe. Her beautiful mum taught her to weave several years ago. She started weaving earrings and then kept creating new pieces as the inspiration came to her. She now creates jewellery and wall pieces as well as teaches others. 'I want to use my weaving to break down barriers – so we can sit, connect and learn about each others journey while learning about my beautiful culture at the same time”.
